Claudia Oliveri was born in Bogota , Colombia, but is of Argentine - Italian nationality. Her father, an Argentine diplomat allowed her to travel and live with her family around the world very early on, throughout Latin America, Europe, and the United States. As a child she fell in love with photography when given her first camera, and began taking pictures of family, places, and nature. This passion continued, and while living in New York she chose to sign up at New York University to study film and photography. Having to leave the U.S. with her family again , she then opted to study first Advertising and later Interior Design , setting up her own practice with a partner in Buenos Aires. Never putting down the camera , she only decided to return to her first love many years ago enrolling in several workshops in Buenos Aires and abroad with well known photographers, namely Eddie Soloway, Juan Travnik, Angela Coppello , and Ana Sanchez Zinni amongst others .
Initially focusing on personal narratives , she now is compelled to speak of and for nature showcasing it ´s beauty, our relationship to it and the importance of it ´s preservation .
Claudia lives in Lisbon Portugal with her family.
